General Role Description

The Marketing Lead oversees all marketing, communications and public relations strategies and ensures internal and external communication aligns with the business development strategy. The position leads and manages all aspects of marketing and ensures goals for the department are being met. The role is highly focused on strategic marketing, will be supported by the Marketing Coordinator, and will report to the Director of Project Development.

Classification: Exempt

Compensation: $70,000 to $95,000

Key Responsibilities

Department Development

  • Have a vision and direction for the marketing department
  • Oversee processes and procedures related to marketing
  • Drive continuous improvement
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the company
  • Facilitate an effective Review Process
  • Execute training/development/coaching & mentoring programs

Customize, implement and evolve the marketing program with a focus on strategic marketing

  • Develop new marketing and communications initiatives and direct ongoing programs
  • Explore alternatives to existing marketing initiatives in order to improve department
  • Provide direction and oversight to staff on the implementation of new company/firm initiatives
  • Foster Business Development & Marketing within the culture
  • Utilize and Manage the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) data base program for strategic marketing purposes
  • Accountable for the Firm Wide Marketing Plan to develop, place and manage the brand
  • Perform and lead market research focused on existing and new clients within strategic market segments
  • Own and manage the Company Website
  • Own and manage the company social media profiles
  • Track industry organization and association events associated with the Business Development and Marketing department strategic initiatives

Lead the strategic marketing components of the Project/Client Acquisition Process

  • Provide strategic direction and implementation of non-project specific marketing materials such as the Company General Brochure, Segment Specific marketing materials, etc.
  • Own and manage the proposal library
  • Own and manage lead sources, vendor registration, and SAM & SBA registration
  • Track project leads and opportunities and collaborate strategic approach with Principals, Department Managers, and Project Managers to conduct client research
  • Lead the RFP/RFP/Interview process for project pursuits
  • Coordinate RFQ/RFP/Interview responses, schedules, and responsibilities with internal and external consultants
  • Generate and manage the RFQ/RFP/Interview content in collaboration with Principals, Director of Project Development, Department Managers, and Project Managers

External Leadership/Community

  • Develop an “Inner Circle”
  • Have appropriate external relations
  • Be a leader in Marketing oriented associations
  • Represent the organization regarding civic and professional association responsibilities and activities in the local community
  • Assure that the organization is consistently presented in a strong, positive image to relevant stakeholders
  • Drive Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of six (6) years of experience in the AEC industry as a marketing professional
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a management position
  • Proficient with InDesign software
  • Experience managing a Client Resource Management (CRM) software
  • General understanding of the MEP Engineering design and construction process
  • Strong presentation, written, and verbal and communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Experience creating and executing marketing strategic plans
  • Website design experience
  • Social Media experience

Education

  • Four-year college or university program degree; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Credentials

  • Licensed PE is preferred but not required.

Working Conditions

The work performed with this position will be primarily in a heated/cooled office environment. The job will also involve occasional trips for various business purposes. The equipment this employee is expected to operate include a computer, copier/scanner, phone, plotter, field survey tablet and various other field survey equipment. Lifting requirements are minimal (less than 1% of time) and typically does not exceed 30 pounds.
